Great Cheesecloth Clothing Ideas

Did you know it for a fact, that LEVIS makes cheesecloth shirts? I did not.
Cheesecloth has traditionally been used for cheese making purposes, but have you heard of it being used for clothing? You would be surprised to hear it, but cheese cloth has been used as clothing from times as early as the sixties. You could ask people from the seventies, but some fancy cheesecloth shirts were made in those times and were called as ‘GAUZE SHIRTS’.

Since cheesecloth is a loosely woven fabric, it makes great garments for summer. Cheesecloth of a higher grade is particularly used for making garments since the strength of the garment is higher when using higher grades. In fact, cheesecloth is easily dyed and can be obtained at relatively cheaper prices thereby making it accessible at a lower cost and offering greater design flexibility for the designer.

I think the garments made out of cheesecloth give a great linen feel to the garment and has the porosity to give you an airy, easy go look. For the environmentally conscious gentry, cheesecloth garments are completely bio degradable thereby improving the green quotient in the environment and making that little bit of a difference in improving the environment. Many clothing designers are also turning cheesecloth into kaftans and stylish over wear for some really sensuous clothing.

Designers all around the globe are designing clothes around the fabric to suit different genres and environments. So for all those who were thinking of using cheesecloth for only making cheese, here is some great usage for making some top line innovative garments.
